Relief support to Indonesia:

from our colleague in CRM, Keith Webb:

The affected areas of Indonesia are mainly in northern Sumatra in an area called Aceh. This region is experiencing civil war and is very Islamic. Two of the sharpest Indonesian guys I've been working with the past year and a half are leading teams to Aceh to carry food, medical supplies, etc. to the hardest hit city. One of these men is a medical doctor.

They will leave the 31st (30th our time) from Jakarta to fly there. I see this is a chance for us to be supportive of national Christian efforts to help in Aceh. Foreigners are not normally even allowed up there because of the civil conflict. These folks who are going are top-notch evangelists with many years of experience. Pray that they can serve well the people affected. Pray that relief efforts will not be hampered by the rebels or other authorities. Pray for the children and many other innocents who are at the mercies of others.”

  • A special account has been set up at CRM called “Indonesian Tsunami Relief” that Keith will oversee through which funds can be channeled to help with these efforts. Keith is encouraging churches and others to participate. He’ll know more in the coming days the extent of the need and how best help can be delivered. Click on the link above to donate online.
